As of January 1, 2025, the total value of retail deposits (including sole traders) in Ukrainian banks reached UAH 1 392.2 billion.
During 2024 the total increase in household deposits was UAH 157.4 billion, of which UAH 110.6 billion – is a real growth (excluding revaluation of the foreign currency deposits).
Of the total amount of deposits as of January 1, 2025:
- deposits in national currency – UAH 899.5 billion (+ UAH 103.1 billion for 2024);
- deposits in foreign currency – UAH 492.7 billion (+ UAH 54.3 billion for 2024).
The share of the sole traders in the structure of deposits as of January 1, 2025, amounted to 3.2%, and in the structure of the amount of deposits – 12.1%. The total amount of their deposits amounted to UAH 168.9 billion, which is UAH 19.0 billion more than in 2023. It should be noted, that deposits of sole traders are covered by the DGF.

Recall that starting from April 13, 2022, the date when the Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine on Ensuring the Stability of the Household Deposit Guarantee System” entered into force, 100% guarantees apply for deposits of individuals (including sole traders), during the martial law in Ukraine and for three months after its cancellation or termination. After the expiration of three months from the date of cancellation or termination of the martial law, the maximum amount of guaranteed compensation for depositors in Ukrainian banks shall not be less than UAH 600 thousand.
All banks of Ukraine are members of the DGF. As of January 1, 2025, 62 member banks were in the DGF register.
